About

I first started practising yoga in 1995 when I was living in Singapore and pregnant with my first child and have been practising ever since.

In 2016 I enrolled on the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course with Hazel Faithfull, in Oxford. Studying the history, philosophy and theories that underpin the practice of Yoga, was truly enlightening. It inspired me to enrol on the BWY Certificate Course for Teacher Training and become a qualified Yoga Teacher. I studied at the White Horse Yoga Centre in Devizes with Senior Teacher, Debby Wilkinson where I completed the 500hr YTT.

I set up Yogaboddi in 2018 to offer gentle and mindful yoga classes for both beginners and those with experience. My classes include fundamental teaching of breath awareness, the use of breath in Asanas and incorporate some of the traditions of yoga philosophy within the class. We begin by warming up the muscles and joints and then move into posture work including some slow flow sequences to improve strength and mobility. I focus on the importance of correct anatomical alignment to avoid stress and injury to joints and teach students to be aware of their individuality and what works and doesn’t work for them. We end the class with breathing exercises and relaxation to release tension, let go of stress and find balance. My classes are for all levels of student who are looking to improve their flexibility and balance and achieve a sense of calm and well being.

I believe that Yoga is for everyone, whatever age, shape or size. For me, Yoga has always been less about achieving the perfect posture and more about the way it makes me feel. Yoga is a lifelong journey and I am continuing my own study. There is always so much more to learn. I have recently completed the 200hr diploma course and enjoy attending other classes, workshops and retreats to enrich my own practice. It is both interesting and illuminating to practice with other teachers, to increase my knowledge and skills and share experiences which I can use to inform my own teaching.
Classes

I want students to leave my class feeling lighter and more supple and with a sense of calm and well being that they can take into their daily lives. That holistic blend of stretching and exercising muscles together with deep breathing and meditation, is deeply therapeutic and provides us with a valuable tool to find strength and tranquillity in our busy lives.

A typical class will include posture work to improve strength and flexibility, and breathing and relaxation to release tension, to let go of stress and to find balance.
